Come and see live cooking demonstrations on stage. Poh Ling Yeow from ABC's cooking show POH'S KITCHEN will be there to demonstrate traditional Malaysian recipes with a fresh Asian twist.

Organic Circle

Live stage demonstrations on the how-to of the complete cycle of sustainable vegetable growing. Three stages, Compost, Cultivate and Control - will sit side-by-side, with presentations by the expert personalities from ABC Gardening Australia.

Discovery Desk

Get a taste of the latest and greatest gardening gadgets, tips and tricks that exhibitors have to offer. Here you will learn about new products and discover fresh ideas to make your garden bloom.

ABC for Kids

Get the most out of the Expo by keeping the kids happy. Your children will be entertained throughout the day by Spot the Dog, a popular and friendly character from ABC for Kids TV program.

Rosa Matto

Rosa Matto's family came from a southern region of Italy, called Campania, its cuisine, like no other, is celebrated in songs and poetry - it is full of imagination and inspiration. From this background Rosa emerged obsessed with seasonal produce and an unshakeable belief in the power of food to bring people together. Rosa makes her living from teaching at her cookery school in Goodwood, South Australia - she runs workshops, tours, demonstrations, practical classes and interesting dinners - all of them based on seasonal, local produce or an exploration of another culture.

Potting Shed

Your favourite presenters from ABC TVs Gardening Australia - Josh Byrne, Tino Carnevale and Sophie Thomson and the editor of ABC Gardening Australia magazine, Jennifer Stackhouse will lead an interactive display with hands-on participation from audience members. Put your hand up and get chosen from the audience as an apprentice - the experts will demonstrate and you (or another audience member) will then perform - from propagating to grafting to pruning, transplanting and even tool maintenance. You don't need to be an expert gardener yourself but you will be by the end of the Potting Shed feature.

Ask It Solve It

Ask the experts and get all your garden questions answered. An informal, intimate question & answer panel featuring ABC TV's Gardening Australia program presenters as well as other industry experts will talk about specific plant care and answer your gardening-related questions.

Backyard Creatures

Listen to talks on what you need to know, what you need to do and the benefits of keeping chooks or ducks as pets - learn how to attract the types of wildlife you would like to see in your own backyard to bring colour and excitement to your daily life. Injured and orphaned wildlife - how to rescue and where to take them to ensure they are returned to their homes as quickly as possible. Where have all the butterflies gone? Come and find out. You also have the opportunity to see and touch chooks, ducklings and more.

Sophie Thomson

Sophie Thomson is Gardening Australia's presenter in South Australia. Sophie gained a good horticultural grounding during 8 years of managing her family owned retail nursery. She has an Advanced Diploma in Horticulture and is a member of the Australian Institute of Horticulture.

Tino Carnevale

Tino Carnevale is Gardening Australia's presenter in Tasmania. Tino's lifelong interest in plants and gardening stems from growing up on his family's small vineyard and olive grove. Since leaving school he has been involved in the horticultural industry as a designer and landscape gardener.
